Just a couple days after the launch of Guitar Hero World Tour and the subsequent reports of busted drum sets, Activision has admitted that there are some sets that are defective. In their statement -- prior to unabashedly calling World Tour "the best musical gaming experience ever created" -- Activision says that some drums face "sensitivity issues," due to an "isolated manufacturing issue."

The company claims they will be putting the controllers through more vigorous testing, including increased random testing, and will be offering a tuning kit that will help ensure drums are working correctly.

Activision says that disappointed gamers with malfunctioning drum sets should visit their support page (www.activision.com/support) or call 310 255-2050.

You can read their full statement below:

We have learned that certain drum kit controllers manufactured for Guitar Hero World Tour have sensitivity issues. We believe that these controllers are limited to ones in the earlier manufacturing stages. While we believe that this was an isolated manufacturing issue, we are stepping our efforts to randomly test our drum kit controllers so customers can be assured they work properly. In the event any consumers do experience problems with their drum kit controllers associated with sensitivity issues, Activision will soon be offering a drum tuning kit that will enable players to fully optimize their drums.

Our goal would be to immediately address any hardware issues Guitar Hero World Tour players have with the game. Consumers should visit the Activision Publishing customer support website at www.activision.com/support website or call 310 255-2050 in the U.S. where a customer care representative will assist them. Activision is fully committed to the highest quality manufacturing standards, and to satisfying every Guitar Hero World Tour fan so they can enjoy the best musical gaming experience ever created.

RedOctane slash Activision continually posts their "cusomer service" number and even lists office times, but the automated operator provides no way to actually talk to a customer service representative. The web site contact form also provides no customer service.
The short answer is that they, whoever they really are, provides no customer service, only automated information about essentially telling you that your problem is your problem.
The economy is in complete shambles because of arrogance and greed replacing innovation. These people, whoever they really are, though they are rolling in cash, are too appathetic to provide a ten buck an hour operator to answer the flippin' phone when their customers need help.
Do not buy Guitar Hero or any product with RedOctane or Activision brands.
