As a former college professor, Helen very much enjoys speaking to
students and readers. She has met with English and History classes in
public and independent schools; with college students in Women's
Studies, Slavic Studies, Jewish Studies, Journalism and Memoir classes;
with social workers, psychologists and psychiatrists at various mental
health conferences; with women's groups and public library reading
groups; with religious groups at synagogues and churches. She has recently traveled to Rome, Udine and Perugia, for the Italian
translation of De Madre Infiglia and will be in Paris in the fall to
discuss the French translations of her three books pertaining to
Second Generation.
